The Cross as a Prism

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned - - -

Isaiah 9:2

Light in our world falls into three categories — natural light, such as that of the sun, moon and stars; artificial light, which is man-made; and spiritual light.  The Bible has a great deal to say about light and what it does to darkness.  John, writing the introduction to his gospel, pictures Jesus Christ as the Spiritual Light of the world who came into a world of darkness.
As Sir Isaac Newton discovered, a variety of colors emerges when light passes through a prism, some brilliant and others more subdued.  Each color is  a particular manifestation of light.
The Cross is the prism through which heaven’s light passes and shines on your darkness.  No matter what you need is, God is sufficient and able to help.  He is the answer to your neediness, the solution to your problem and pain.  The Cross reveals to us the Light of the World, who can overcome any darkness that you face.  If you find yourself in a dark place right now, look to the Creator of light, who loves you and will give you light for the next step.

You may be finding it hard to free yourself from a dark mood, Taurus, even though you are surrounded by love and light. If the shades in your emotional room are drawn, then none of that light can come in, even though it is dazzling just outside your door. You may not even realize how much love there is out there to draw on because you haven't really looked. You are so caught up in what is wrong, that you have not stopped to look around and see what is right - and there is plenty that is right. Open your eyes. Let the light in.
