BAKIT maraming pamahiin ang ating mga magulang?
Why do our parents have so many superstitious belief?

Brief Description
A question in my mind since my parents infused lots of superstitious belief in many aspects of our lives which they can’t even explain the rationale behind it.

My Smart Answer
To avoid conflict with our parents, we just have to follow those beliefs. Anyway, it will bring no harm to us. Besides it will not even cause death among us if we follow such superstitious belief.

BAKIT ba ang kulit mo?
Why are you so persistent and tenacious?

Brief Description
This is a common question being asked to a person who is very persistent and tenacious in asking questions.  They usually keep on repeatedly asking the same query over a period of time.

My Smart Answer
They are persistent and tenacious because they thought that’s the only way to get favorable.

BAKIT ang tigas ng ulo mo?
Why are you so hardheaded?

Brief Description
With frustration, we usually express this to our dear someone who never listens to our advices/instructions.

My Smart Answer
A simple and easy answer that we can give to those inquisitive kids is because the sea is rich and main source of salt which we use for seasoning of our food.
Being hardheaded is human nature. We don’t like to entertain new ideas or listen to advices which only meant for our own good sake. But we change into good when something bad happened to us. Because in reality, repentance always comes later.

BAKIT malamig ang pasko?
Why is it so cold during Christmas?

Brief Description
The question being asked to those who are single and don’t have lovelife.

My Smart Answer
Being single is not a reason to be unhappy. Use your money for yourself and your loved ones. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, enjoy with your family and friends.

BAKIT ang pula ng lipstick mo?
Why is your lipstick so red?

Brief Description
This is the most common query to most women who are keen on wearing their lipstick red and many are asking them why.

My Smart Answer
Women like to catch the attention of those they will mingle with or even those they will meet up in the street or in any other places, to appreciate their presence at once, thus they are wearing red lipstick.

BAKIT dumadami ang kamag-anak ko tuwing magpapasko?
Why are my relatives increasing during Christmas season?

Brief Description
My question every Christmas since we are only three in the family but suddenly increases during this time. Christmas is the season for giving, that is why every Christmas season we make sure that we prepare gifts and food for our relatives and friends.

My Smart Answer
Because my mother’s cooking is the best! Besides, it’s why better to cause chaos to other’s house! My constant reminder to my Nanay after cleaning up the mess is “it’s better to give than to receive!”

Why is it a  common perception that most often single old ladies/gentlemen  are snobbish and pretentious.  And most of those surrounding them are asking why do they behave in such manner.

My Smart Answer
Probably because that’s their way to be given attention and feel their presence.

Brief Description
A question we often heard from our mothers asking for explanation whenever we did something wrong.
A simple and easy answer that we can give to those inquisitive kids is because the sea is rich and main source of salt which we use for seasoning of our food.

My Smart Answer
Parte ng buhay ng tao ang magkamali. Walang perpektong tao.
In our lives, we commit mistakes because we are not perfect. But whatever reasons of our wrongdoings we can charged it to our experience for us to become a better person. Sometimes lessons learned from our mistakes makes us strong person to face challenges that comes in our way.

BAKIT Bakit kailangan nating pumasuk sa eskuwela at mag aral?

Brief Description
A question asked by our children every time we wake them up to go to school.

My Smart Answer
You need to go to school to study and acquire knowledge and to be successful in life. When you gain knowledge, your self-esteem goes up and you will feel proud of yourself.

BAKIT bilog ang mata?
Why are our eyes round?

Brief Description
Just another random quirky question and wondering about life and living facts...  In this case, about a specific body part...  The eyes.

My Smart Answer
Simply because you won't be able to roll your eyes over someone you find annoying if your eyes were not round.  I think we will find it hard rolling square eyes!

BAKIT ang sungit mo?
Why are you so ill-tempered?

Brief Description
Common Filipino, question or at times more of a rant towards someone who seems "not in the mood", unapproachable, or irritable.

My Smart Answer
We all have our own struggles and at times, we just can't help but get affected by the not-so-good things or happenings in life.  At times we are caught unaware of our own preoccupations and it serves as a good reminder that there is more to life, bigger and better things and people, than our problems.  So let us smile to ourselves and to others rather than frown.

Brief Description
Usually not meant as a question but more of an utterance of dismay and resentment common to fighting couples like me and my husband. #lovehate

Kasi IKAW...
Because it is YOU... It has always been you... My past, my present, and even if I would no longer want it, perhaps you will still be my future because we have already chosen each other to love and to hold even when it seems like I already hate it (really).

BAKIT kulay GREEN ang BLACKboard?
Why are BLACKboards GREEN in color?

Brief Description
As a student, I have always wondered why and would ask myself why blackboards were called as a BLACKboard when they are in fact GREEN in color.

My Smart Answer
Based on history, blackboards were first made BLACK.  But when blackboards were used in school and for teaching, they then turned it into GREEN because it is the color of HOPE...  So that we students wouldn't loose hope in passing our subjects in school!!!

BAKIT ang bagal ng oras kapag nag-aantay?
Why does time seems to get slow when waiting?

Brief Description
People who are in the agony of waiting for something or someone, this is the common question in mind.

My Smart Answer
What we hate most is waiting. We tend to be impatient while waiting so we keep on checking our watches and unnoticeably counting every second that passed by. So it appears to us that time is getting slow when in fact, we just feel the agony of waiting.

Question asked to self when you’re too irritated looking for what you need.

My Smart Answer
Because you need to appreciate the value to everything. Not only just when you need it. Everything has its own purpose, so let us not ignore it.

This is one of the funny quotes mostly heard in Filipino conversations.

My Smart Answer
Because when you joke on someone who’s drunk, he would just sleep on you. But when you make fun of someone who just woke up, you might end up sleeping (because you got hit on the face).

Brief Description
Hopeful romantics often wonder on the irony as to why the person that they like does not like them back.

My Smart Answer
Malamang maging KAYO na at mag-level up na kayo in a relationship status!
Because we are just talking about mere admiration or having a crush here. If your crush also happens to have a crush on you, that, I believe is no longer just a crush. Most likely you two will already be a THING or in a relationship status!

Brief Description
Question usually overheard from market-goers when they are about to buy unlikely high-priced basic commodities in public market.

My Smart Answer
Wala silang kikitain.
When commodities are purchased in high prices from wholesalers, definitely, vendors will also sell it higher in the market. Vendors will lose their profit if products are sold at lower prices.

There are several ways to answer this and make them stop asking why: (1) Why not! (2) the classic Ewan! (then walk out) and (3) ask your mother!
