When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I ...
Psalm 61:2 NKJV
People in danger are always an interesting study. Take for instance the evening the violinist Isaac Stern played in a concert in Israel during the Persian Gulf War. In the middle of the concert, sirens began to wail, signaling an attack. Though concertgoers and musicians immediately headed for the nearest exit, Isaac remained calm. He picked up his violin and quieted the audience as he began to play.
How do you respond to crisis? Is there an inner strength that helps you to remain steady in the storm?
It was in a time of crisis that a man cried out, "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. And He knows those who take refuge in Him" (Nahum 1:7 NASB). Nahum lived in a time when the nations of the world were engaged in a deadly conflict. People wondered if God had forsaken them, but Nahum learned to turn to the Lord for strength and help.
Have you experienced this calmness in times of crisis? Go back to the Bible, friend, and learn of God's care and concern.

You aren't always very good at accepting a compliment. When someone praises you, Taurus, it isn't easy for you to believe that the compliment is genuine. You are humble and self-effacing, and you just don't get how much you have to offer to the world. It's time for a more serious appraisal of your talents and qualities. You are helpful, loving, kind, thoughtful, and hard-working. You have many other personal qualities as well that are worthy of praise, but if you don't start seeing it for yourself it doesn't matter what anyone tells you. Look at yourself and your generous nature more objectively and appreciatively.
