God Want You Happy

For the Jews it was time of happiness and joy, gladness and honor. - - - Esther 8:16

Suppose a reporter from a local newspaper cornered the Apostle Paul after his conversion and asked, "Mr. Paul, how happy are you on a scale of one to ten?"  Paul might look somewhat amazed and say, "Happy?  You've got to be kidding."  Then, Paul might add, "If happiness were my goal, I'd forget Christianity, buy a villa in the Mediterranean and write books about positive thinking.  Now if you're asking about peace and joy amidst the storms of life, that's another matter."
Have you ever thought about much about Jesus and happiness?  After reading accounts of Jesus' life in the New Testament, do you get the feeling that happiness  didn't figure largely in the scheme of what He considered to be important?
Does this mean that God wants us unhappy --- that He expects His children to wear black and drink vinegar?  No at all!  We're confused today because we think that joy and happiness are synonymous.  And using the value system of a godless world, we've put a premium on happiness.  Take a few minutes to think about the difference.
@Today Can Be the Best Day of Your Life

You may be feeling fearful because of a situation that is unfolding now. You can imagine all of the possible worst-case scenarios. You don't know how it will turn out, but you are hoping that you are blessed and protected. When you worry about the outcome to the point of emotional exhaustion, you aren't really investing your faith in a positive outcome. Try to relax and try to expect the best, Taurus. If you can do that, then you will draw all the blessings and protection that you need.
