Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.
Hebrews 9:28
The writer of the book of Hebrews gives us the following three guidelines for overcoming discouragement and weariness:
- Guideline 1: "Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith" (Hebrews 10:22). Got troubles, pain, or misunderstanding? Then beat a path to the throne of grace and tell God how you feel.
- Guideline 2: "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful" (Hebrews 10:23). Hold on tenaciously to the promises of God. Don't let anyone talk you out of them.
- Guideline 3: "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25). When people become isolated from each other, it's like taking a burning piece of wood from the fire: the fire in the wood begins to go out. We need each other for encouragement, for strength, for help.
Study Hebrews 10 and keep on going in life.
