Sampayan (Sam-pa-yan) is a Filipino word for clothesline, where clothing that had recently been washed are hung along the line to dry, using clothes pegs. Merlina's Sampayan is my blog all about my LIKES and DISLIKES. It features my experiences in life, craziness and foolishness, dreams and fantasies, aspirations and frustrations, happiness and sadness, success and failures, memorable moments, wonders of discovery, thrills, and entertainments. Let's hang-out together in my Sampayan!
There were actually quite a number of us but as what I have told in the first part of this exposition, only six boys and seven girls were “brave” enough to sit in the circle to call out for “lost” souls. That makes thirteen of us all in all. The rest of the gang who were dubbed as “killjoys” preferred to stay at the school grounds while waiting for us and just enjoy the loud music that is being played as the sound system for the Senior’s party the following day is being set-up.
We were in our second year and it was almost vacation. It was just a few weeks before classes officially close. So we decided to make that school year even more memorable by doing something we considered “fun” – to go hunting for ghosts. It was a three-night quest composed of various “scary” activities with a planned itinerary for each night just within and nearby the school campus. All of which were made possible for there was an on-going preparation for the Senior’s Party the upcoming weekend. An avid reader; a self-confessed writer; food and fashion enthusiast; passionate about music, movies, and tele-novelas; occasional cook and baker; loving and trendy mother; aspiring photographer, owner of a wandering feet enthusiastically moving around; and a dedicated and loyal friend.
