Have you ever had experience a phenomenon that cannot be explained no matter how you tried to understand it? Are you familiar with the phrase ‘beyond one’s imagination or understanding’? If you have this some sort of experience that makes you feel that hair-raising/eerie or déjà vu feeling, please share through email message to merlinagp@gmail.com. Experience No. 25:
“Across”
(Shared by Cecille Gesulga <cece.gesulga@gmail.com>)
From childhood, I had a number of experiences that I can consider as “out-of-this-world”. Now, given the avenue to share such strange, baffling, yet worth remembering events in my life, I am tempted to go back through time and reminisce each and every moment of unlikely revelation. It is believed that infants and children happen to be most sensitive and vulnerable to what we can refer to as the “unknown”. I am also one of the many who have had bizarre, inexplicable, and almost ethereal moments in my life especially as a child.
I do not know what is it with me and roads but most of the weird things that I did get to encounter in my youth usually occurred in that setting. Either along the road or while I am about to cross or while actually crossing the street. I remember when I was in my early school years, about 6 years of age, I was nearly hit by a rushing ten-wheeler truck. My mother was taking me to school that morning. Given my clumsy and reckless nature, I excitedly ran across the other lane as we were crossing the street towards my school. I was totally unaware of the huge, metal vehicle that was about to hit my frozen body. I remember feeling nothing but fear itself, hearing nothing but the frightful scream of my mother, and seeing nothing but the blinding lights of the fast-approaching truck. Both my mind and body were still. I was sure that I was to be hit by that truck. I was standing directly in front of it. But as it headed its way towards me, I felt a strong force. It was as if a hand grabbed me and pulled me from behind. It was definitely not my mother’s hands though. It was someone else’… Or something else’.
This was the first but not the only instance were I was literally faced with a near-death experience during my entire childhood. There were at least three more life-threatening experiences that I had across different circumstances, along different roads. One involving a car, the other a motorcycle, and even a tricycle in one instance. In all of these events, I was miraculously out of the imminent danger with nothing more than just a scratch in one occasion. But I was always left with a trembling body, a traumatized mind, and a heart that is both afraid and at awe after each of the almost-tragic-accidents I had to come across. Up to this moment, I cannot explain it myself. The people that were involved and were witnesses to such happenings cannot provide a practical explanation either. I am certain of only one thing in particular… In all of these circumstances, I was NOT capable of saving myself on my own. Not with my petite demeanor. Especially not with my flimsy legs… That’s for sure! There was just this certain “force”, this certain “presence” that I truly felt to have protected and saved me.
Being born, raised, and schooled in a strong Catholic environment, I was aware and a firm believer of the existence of good and bad spirits, of angels and of devils. This belief was solidified not only by the unusual situations that I earlier emphasized but by one weirder, and way “out-of-this-world” experience. There was this once while I was standing alone waiting for the right time to cross the street in front of our house when a deep, male voice whispered on my left ear. He said “Tumawid ka na (Go across).” It was as if he was calling or convincing me. It was so clear and audible. But I happen to be on my own and there was no one else around the area to have told me such a foolish idea. If I was seduced to what the voice have suggested, I would have been hit by one of the speeding cars and would probably be crippled or dead by now. I can still recall how that distinct voice sounds in my ear and it still gives me the same intensity of creeps.
Because of all these peculiar encounters, I grew up with the certainty that roads are the most dangerous places on earth. A combat zone of metal machineries of all types and sizes, with blinding beams and deafening noises accompanied with the actual presence of evil lurking around every corner. Guardian angels? Evil spirits? Sounds impossible right? But I came across them not just once but a number of times. Impossible but it happened to me!

During our childhood days we were taught of a prayer to our guardian angels. They are here to protect, guard and guide us. Praying this daily for my angel to never leave my side:
Angel of God, my guardian dear
to whom God’s love commits me here
every each day/night be at my side
to light, to guard, to rule and guide.
Amen😇😇😇
Always pray. god is always beside you
This is what our parents keep on reminding us, that you should look on your left and right sides before crossing the road or do it many times to make sure the road is clear of any vehicles (though I won't expect you to instill those reminders yet on your mind as a kid, we are one of a naught child). I do believe that some "evil forces" compel you to do something that is totally out of your consciousness so better be careful!
Before crossing the street or even before using pedestrian lanes, we should be guided by these words: stop, look at both sides and if u are near the pnr stations, listen.... And the most important word? PRAY...because prayer is the best shield against evil... Probably that's the reason why our parents taught us how to pray......and I believed also that all kids have guardian angels to protect us from any untoward incident.
while crossing the street we should always be careful
guardian angel always watches over us
wherever we are we should always be aware of our surroundings
I also believe in angels
angels are there to protect us
mag-ingat lagi kung saan man tayo mapunta
magingat, maging alisto, magdasal
There are forces everywhere, good and bad, angels and demons, known and unknown
prayers are so powerful make it short or long as long as we call unto him
We should take extra care while crossing the street, be alert and conscious of your surroundings

Believe and you will be protected
You should be grateful that your guardian angel is always there for you
I do believe in angels, growing up believing in them. Me and my mom always recite the prayer to our guardian angel every night. There are things that are happening to us that we cannot explain, only God has the answer to those, all we need is to believe, believe that He is always there to protect us, guide us and love us. Stop, look and listen.. hehe... pray always
you should pray before u cross the street...
always be careful, muntik na rin ako minsan.
When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they create in.. THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF AN ANGEL...
If you see something, just pray first and look around and dont be afraid..
If you see something, just pray first and look around and dont be afraid..
God sent an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that God prepared.
