View from the Side: Book Review (All the Birds in the Sky)

My Fourth Book of 2016

Science Fiction. Fantasy. Young Adult. Serious Adult. Magic. Fairy Tale. Adventure. Alternate World. Magical Realism.

This book is rather unique that it keeps me amazingly confused. But it is clear that the novel tackles a bit of everything. It is a fusion of the powers of science and magic interweave with our everyday lives. Interestingly, it tackles also climate change.
The book is a modern tale of a powerful witch and a science genius. They grow-up together at the earlier stages of their lives, forced to grow apart due to mysterious circumstances, and meet again in their adult lives (although they are reluctant to connect with each other) to either save the world or bring it to total destruction.
To describe the book, I came-up with these phrases:
  • At Last: A powerful witch battles a mad scientist!
  • Science, Nature, Magic: Working Together?
  • Timeless Piece: Enduring Friendship and Love
  • Science and Nature: Intertwine through Magic
  • The Tree and the Caddy: Love at First Byte
  • Patricia and Laurence: Destined to be Together Against All Odds (Finally, there is #forever!)
In a world where our lives are driven by technology, the book shows a fresh perspective that technology (science) and magic can be melded together resulting in a better place to live in.

LEDO - Live Everyday Die Once

LEDO is a journal of the "everyday of everything" in my life that is worth remembering ...... to remind me that each new day is a chance to explore new things, to enjoy life, and to thank God! I always believe that we live everyday and we die once!

My 4th Book of 2016
Day 63 of 2016

After reading the interesting but depressing book (Orwell's 1984), I decided to veer away from My List of Books to Read Now and Beyond for the meantime.

I searched for a book that is light and entertaining but quite engaging.  I was able to find a book based on high ratings on the net.

With 320 pages and published just last January 26, 2016, it has already been declared as An Amazon Best Book of February 2016.  I started reading the book today and hope finish soon.

I am anticipating my personal review about the book.
