My ‘Out-of-this-World’ Experience No. 17

Have you ever had experience a phenomenon that cannot be explained no matter how you tried to understand it?  Are you familiar with the phrase ‘beyond one’s imagination or understanding’?  If you have this some sort of experience that makes you feel that hair-raising/eerie or déjà vu feeling, please share through email message to merlinagp@gmail.com.  It is my pleasure to post your experience in this Blog.  Let the circle of sharing begins.
Experience No. 17:
“Ghost Hunting turned Ghost Haunting”
(Shared by Cecille Gesulga <cece.gesulga@gmail.com>)
Like most people, I also consider my high school days as one of the most exciting chapters of my life.  The dawn of independence, freedom, and exploration.  At this phase, we are usually in pursuit of new things, of more meaningful learnings, of more thrilling adventures…  I will never forget that there even came a time when my high school friends and I literally went in search for the unknown.
We were in our second year and it was almost vacation.  It was just a few weeks before classes officially close.  So we decided to make that school year even more memorable by doing something we considered “fun” – to go hunting for ghosts.  It was a three-night quest composed of various “scary” activities with a planned itinerary for each night just within and nearby the school campus.  All of which were made possible for there was an on-going preparation for the Senior’s Party the upcoming weekend.
The first two nights were indeed fun.  We really enjoyed scaring ourselves along the dark corridors, classrooms, and bathroom mirrors of our school campus on the first night and by the yard of a neighboring ‘haunted’, abandoned house on the second night.  We were equipped with nothing but the lights of our cellular phones to guide our heightened sense of adventure.  After each spooky/hilarious trip, we went back to our hideout – the Math Center.  We were not really good in mathematics.  We joined mainly so that we can make use of the facility (Hehe).  There, we talked/laughed about our first-hand experiences.  Most of us shared to have experienced something unusual.  Some claimed to have seen sightings of unearthly beings such as orbs, non-human shadows, and a floating lady-like figure.  Others have felt a certain eerie presence that walks with us and have smelled something close to rotting flowers.
The third night was rather different.  That night we decided to end our quest in our very own classroom for our old school building was said to also be haunted.  We intended to play the spirit board game or the Ouija.  The one who was in-charge of providing the Ouija board wasn’t able to bring one.  So instead, we just sat in a circle, held hands, and closed our eyes while Carl, our lead, started calling out to the unknown.  At first it was comic.  But as our friend continued the ritual and asked each one of us to meditate to his calls for a ghostly appearance the atmosphere suddenly changed.
I remember it so well.  I had never been that scared in my entire life that I held my eyes shut.  I didn’t even dared to take a peek.  We heard strange noises and voices for a few seconds.  And it was surely not coming from ourselves or outside but inside our very own classroom.  And then there was silence.  No one dared to utter a word until the girl who was seated one person away from me, broke into tears and then laughter.  She sounded nothing like her usual self…  Her voice was different – deeper, darker.  We all knew that it wasn’t really her talking.  I can feel her trembling so as the rest of us in the group.  She continued crying and laughing for a few minutes until Carl finally found the courage to speak again.  He asked for her name.  She answered “April”…  But our friend’s name wasn’t April!  It was Rachel.  Our lead instructed to not break the chain of the circle even if some of us were already too scared to continue and then he further asked some more questions…  She answered some and just cried/laughed at some in a roaring manner.
She was possessed by someone… by something.  Right then and there, I witnessed a possession with my own two eyes.  I hardly believed it at first.  It was like you are in some sort of demonic movie.  But we all knew that amidst all traces of doubts and suspicions, she wasn’t pretending or acting it all out.  It wasn’t just her voice that changed.  Her physical appearance did too.  Her beautiful dark skin turned pale and lifeless.  And she had blotchy, red patches on her face and neck.  Her shaking intensified while her eyes rolled.  She was like having an epileptic attack or something.  But her strength was undeniably unbelievable.  She could push and pull a string of individuals with just a flick of an arm.  The six boys in the group couldn’t restrain her or keep her anyway in control.  We were all in a state of panic and hysteria.  Most of the seven girls, myself included, were all crying in shock and in fear.
Some were shouting uncontrollably.  We were not totally expecting or prepared for something like that to happen to us.  We didn’t really know what to do.  I know we wanted to see sightings of a ghost…  But well, not in such a grave occurrence.  I think we got a lot more than the dose of scare that we needed for that night.  The intensity of that experience was enough to haunt us every night of our lifetimes.  How we got out of that scary and sticky situation is another out-of-this-world story... Impossible but it happened to me!

Seeing a ghost or un-humane is one thing but when they posses a human, that is another story. I've seen spirits in real life but possession... I'd rather face my fear of roaches and stare at the freaky Jeff the killer picture.
