LEDO - Live Everyday Die Once

LEDO is a journal of the "everyday of everything" in my life that is worth remembering ...... to remind me that each new day is a chance to explore new things, to enjoy life, and to thank God! I always believe that we live everyday and we die once!

Problem Solving
Day 20 of 2016

As a consequence of my work, I was caught in a very difficult, intriguing and controversial situation that is not of my own making.  And worst, I am being pressured to make a stand the soonest.

It was my practice that in the event that I cannot be sure of what to do, I always consult at least 3 people whom I know can exactly provide me with proper guidance.  As in the past, I identified these 3 people based on their knowledge and experience, and my personal confidence on them.  It is a combination of professional as well as personal relationships.

These 3 people gave me different views/perspectives on the same situation.  Naturally, I have to process all the inputs given to me.  These inputs provided me with a better understanding of the issue at hand.  And now, I believed I am ready to make a stand.

Problem understanding and solution-finding always boil down to “PERSPECTIVES”.  We should learn to understand first the perspective before going to the process.  Critically, ‘role play’ on trying to be in one’s shoes is a great help, too!

In this case, I was able to deduced from my consultations with my 3 identified people sufficient inputs to make my decision.  But in the event that I can’t still make a decision based on my consultations, I do the ‘Bible Cutting Technique (BCT)’.  The process is so simple:  while holding the Bible, I think deeply of the situation I need to address, then flip open the pages, read the page where the flipping stops….. and voila!
