Is There Any Hope?
But Christ was faithdul as a Son over His house whose house --- we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end. - - - Hebrews 3:6 NASB
A coalminer was trapped in the mine. His leg was pinned beneath the crushing weight of the timbers and rock that had fallen upon him. For hours he lay in darkness fighting pain and despair, when at last he heard the distant sound of hammers above him and the muffled sound of voices. Unable to call loud enough to make himself heard, he took his pick and in Morse code tapped out the message, "Is there any hope?" Many thoughtful men and women today are asking the same question which the coal miner asked.
Apart from knowing the last chapter of the story of humanity found in the Bible, it seems there is little hope for the world today. But the Bible says that man will not destroy himself by atmospheric corruption. Rather, it offers hope through God's intervention. God is not only the hope for the future, He’s the only hope for the present. Trusting Him gives inner peace — a deep-settled confidence that allows a person to face the realities of life with optimism. |

| Someone who is close to you has always been something of a mystery. In many ways you feel very connected to this person, as though you are kindred spirits.
