The English word “happy” comes from the same root word as “happenstance”, which means “good luck, chance, or fortune.”  Good luck, however, is not the same as a blessing from the Lord.
The blessings of God sometimes come as difficulties, or something we would never choose for ourselves.  In retrospect we’re able to see how God’s loving hand gave guidance and direction in such a way that our lives were enriched, strengthened, and broadened.
When you make happiness your goal you will realize that happiness doesn’t last.  But when you seek blessing from the Almighty, He provides an ongoing source of encouragement.  Like a spring that bubbles forth and never dries, God’s blessings continue to touch our lives from our birth to our homecoming in heaven.
Don’t let the world convince you that happiness is the greatest thing in life.  Happiness is a by-product of the Father’s blessings; the realization that no matter what the circumstances, God is in charge.
The next time someone casually says, “God bless you!” you can reply, “Ah, yes. I am blessed everyday.”
@Tomorrow Begins Today

You cannot right a wrong that was done against you a long time ago, though you have probably fantasized about it a lot. Holding a grudge, however, allows the person who wronged you to live rent-free in your mind. You can make up for whatever you lost, if you haven't already done so, but you cannot give yourself back the time you have wasted thinking about it. Let go of an old injustice. To continue thinking about it would truly be unjust. Your time is better spent on more worthy pursuits.
