Today's Inspiration: Where is God's Heaven

I am going there to prepare a place for you... that you also may be where I am....   
John 14:2-3

When the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him to teach them to pray, He said, "This is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven...'" Just where is heaven?

Of one thing we are sure, heaven is a real place, the throne room of the Almighty, and from there God rules in the affairs of humankind. The word Jesus used for "place" is the same word which gives us the English word topographical. It was always used of a real place, never a figurative, make-believe place.

In many countries,in front of government offices you will find the country's flag proudly flying. The seat of government is in the capital, but wherever you find a government office, you find government representation, and that's how I think of God's people in relationship to heaven.

When you pray those words, "Our Father who art in heaven," remember God is unlimited when it comes to time and space. Therefore, you can be more certain of heaven than you are of anything on earth.

You may have a friend or a loved one who is headed down the wrong path, or is about to make a poor decision. If you really want to reach this person, Taurus, try encouragement instead of criticism. Try inspiration instead of shame or embarrassment. Aim for lifting that person up instead of putting that person down.
