Today's Inspiration: Healing in the Loving Touch
He touched the leper who went through life crying, "Unclean, unclean!" and He still touches those who are neglected by society today.
When asked how she had become involve in her work with the mentally-challenged, a woman named Pungaja, who was handicapped herself, said that missionary Amy Carmichael had changed her life with one hug. "When she hugged me," Pungaja said, "all my burdens went away!"
People respond to loving touch. A family counselor says that most unwanted teenage pregnancies could have been prevented if a father only hugged his teenage daughter everyday,
"Is any sick among you?" wrote James to the church almost 2000 years ago, "let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14 KJV). There is healing in the touch of love and faith.
