Lord our God, grant that our spirit may recognize your Spirit and your love, so that our lives cannot be swallowed up by passing concerns but are lifted to something higher. Help us hold fast to all the blessings you have allowed us to experience, the blessings you will certainly continue to give, even though new battles and new troubles are all around us. Send a great light to shine among the many people whose task is to lead the way so that your kingdom may come. Send light so that your name may be honored through our human deeds and you may be known as life for all. Amen.

Weekend or not, whether on the job front or with a personal project there is a lot of enthusiasm that you are able to tap into today. This may be something that has surfaced in the past, only to find that your enthusiasm wanes and nothing gets finished. That is not likely to be the case this time, for what you are experiencing today is insight into a groundswell of hot headed enthusiasm that will eventually gain both discipline and tenacity. Even if you are not ready to take the first steps yet, there will be clues today to what is calling you.

The New Year is often the time when we tend to make healthy resolutions, resolutions that are often gathering dust just weeks later. The key to sticking to resolutions, whether they be healthy resolutions or not, has nothing to do with willpower and discipline and instead, has everything to do with timing. Right now there is both enthusiasm, momentum and support building for making and staying committed to healthy resolutions. Why wait until the New Year when the conditions are right to not only make but stick to resolutions.
