Shooting stars are quite often seen at night time because we can’t see them in broad daylight. Sometimes, it is being broadcasted on the television especially if a bunch of falling stars are raining on a particular time, for a short period or more commonly called as a meteor shower. We can see this celestial event in just a matter of a seconds as they disappear on the pitch black of the night and we are left asking ourselves, “Where did they go?” That is the very question that bothered me in my childhood about what happened next when a shooting star disappeared in the sky.
Until one night, way back when I was still a teenager. I was carrying my baby sister sleeping on my shoulder because my Mother is doing some business outside of our house. I then decided to go outside the house too because there is no power at that time. People in our place preferred to stay outside when there is no power because it is hot and boring inside the house. Children playing hide and seek, and old folks drinking and doing their usual chat. It was just an ordinary night until something unusual happened. I saw a shooting star and it was not only falling but I also saw how it hit the ground. It came stealthily and very fast that no one even noticed it was approaching except for me and my Mother. When I saw it first hand, I knew it was a shooting star, so I quickly shouted at my mom because I was very excited at that moment. And we just stood there looking at the star steadily falling with its dying light until it finally hit the ground. It was an unusual but beautiful experience that may seem Impossible but it happened to me!
