According to Miriam-Webster dictionary, premonition is previous notice or warning that something will happen. For some reasons I don’t believe on it back then, however when I experienced it personally, I said to my self that premonition is indeed real and you may experience it in some points of your life.
Let me tell you about my own experience. In October 2009, my nephew was rushed to the hospital due to high fever and extreme fatigue. By the way he is the second son of my older brother. He (my nephew) together with his older brother were sent to the province for school as their father, a single parent that time wasn’t able to attend to their daily needs while he is employed.
My nephew was a grade 1 pupil when that incident happened. In the hospital he was diagnosed by the doctor with Hypokalemia, a disease caused or symptom of low Potassium. Once treated, according to the doctor the possibility of becoming like a withered vegetable-body is high.
Meanwhile here Manila, me, my brother (the father), and my sister have to meet to talk about the situation --- of course we need to send money for the treatment. As we conversed that very moment, my nephew was already in the ICU. We concluded the talk by agreeing to meet again the following day (during this time we can already send the money to my mother who is attending my nephew in the hospital).
As we begin the talk the following day, my brother started it by telling us that he saw my nephew riding on a tricycle (back of the driver) waving towards him. Accordingly, he almost believed that he is his son, but when he got his sane back, he whispered to himself “No, he wasn’t my son, he is in the ICU right now”. While still skeptical with his story, my sister continue the conversation by telling us that he also saw my nephew in her dream saying to her that he would not run anymore as he is so damned tired. My sister gave her hand to my nephew trying to help him from falling on to the ground but he eventually fell.
I have no story to share with them that time because I didn’t experience any of those. The only thing that happened to me the night after we talked was that, I saw a headless cockroach but still moving and even flying around me. I felt it strange, but nothing to think and worry about it. I took it for granted, after all, cockroaches are born to die!
After the talk we separated, and me, being the youngest among the 3, was in-charge of sending the money to our mother.
In that night, my sister called me, telling me that my nephew had already passed away. It’s hard to believe, but mother confirmed it! I couldn’t explain the feeling that time because that was the first that someone who is part of my immediate family departed.
After that moment, I figured out that all the experiences we had that night after we’ve talked were indeed premonitions that my nephew will be leaving this temporary life very soon.
“It’s impossible but it happened to me” … premonitions are real!

We too had a premonition experience before my brother died. Some of us believe in it even though we can't explain it. Maybe it is God's way to prepare us or warn us...we really can't tell.
I believe that signs and premonitions are always present amid situations. We only have to be aware and perceptive enough to recognize them.
I never had this sort of physical experience yet but I am aware that some people are prone to premonitions that could actually foretell something is about to happen.
Sir, It was a sad story but I think your nephew was still lucky that he was given the chance to say goodbye to his father. I can hardly decide whether to have this ability or not.
I agree that premonitions come in all flavors. Sometimes they provide information about positive, pleasant happenings that lie ahead -- but only if we hold onto our common-sense beliefs about how the world works.
Like most "improbable" things in life, we tend to refuse to believe or even deny the presence and occurrence of some things or events until we realize its significance and impact in our very own lives.
Premonitions do really happen in different ways. It can be through your dreams or little things. :)
Signs, like clues, are there to help us make sense of what we experience in life.
I believe in premonitions because I have already encountered them so many times in different situations.
Now I believe that multiple premonitions got true!!! for me a single premonition might not came true.
Nakakapagtaka pero totoong nangyayari ito sa maraming tao
ganyan nga yata pag malapit ng isama ni papa Jesus...
matalinghaga talaga ang buhay...
life is just full of mysteries and that is why we should treasure the ones we love
kaya dapat laging kapit lang kay Lord
thus, we must never take for grated those who are dear to us. live life to the fullest.
in a way it's HIS way to tell us something and prepare us for what's gonna happen.just proves that we are always in HIS heart and loved as always.
ganyan talaga ang buhay madaming nakakagulat at hindi maipaliwanag na pangyayari.
nakakapangilabot....
as they say, "everything's happen for a reason". you know naman na i'm just "one call away"...... ;)
Premonitions manifest in many ways. They happen for reasons we will never understand.
Puwede rin natin magamit ang ibinibigay na sign ng premonition sa pag-iwas sa mga maaaring mangyari sa hinaharap.
life is full of hope. just keep the faith.
I believe that there is such thing as premonition based on stories that i've heard. It's life's way of saying that even impossible things could happen!

Many believe premonitions are trying to do us a favor. They are mainly about survival. If you know that something life-threatening is approaching, you have a chance to avoid it.

“Become a good noticer. Pay attention to the feelings, hunches, and intuitions that flood your life each day. If you do, you will see that premonitions are not rare, but a natural part of our lives.”

Sometimes you just have to trust your gut feeling and heed the signs.
Premonitions tell us that there's more to what already exists in the real world.
Premonitions are there to tell us that someone we know will die. That is true and we do not seem to know that we heard or saw a premonition. It's devastating to know before hand that someone is leaving.
