Let God be God

    My times are in your hands. - - - Psalm 31:15

There are three ways in which God is so different from us that we find it difficult to understand Him.  And not understanding Him, we assume that God is the same as we are in these areas.  
The first is time.  God is never in a hurry.  He is not pressed to complete the task by noon on Friday.  He knows our tomorrows as well as our todays, and in His own time He does all things well.
God is also different in His unlimited power.  Theologians call it “infinitude”, which means “limitless.” C. S. Lewis once used the illustration of an endless piece of paper upon which you draw a short line to represent your life in relationship to the infinitude of God.  A pretty staggering thought, right?
Then too, God’s knowledge is complete.  Ours is only partial.  He sees the end from the beginning, which means that worrying is a waste of emotional energy, when we know our lives are secure in His hands.  If you are His, there’s no need to fear the future.
@Today Can Be Different

You may fear that you will miss out on a big opportunity if you don't just dive in head first. Maybe you are being pressured - by yourself or someone else - to make a decision quickly, before you know all there is to know. Or maybe, at some time in the past, you missed out on something because you didn't leap at the chance. This time, though, it is essential that you know what you're getting into before you say yes. Take whatever amount of time it takes to know enough to feel confident that you're doing the right thing.
