Today's Bible Guide: Worry
We worry an awful lot about things that we can neither control nor should greatly be concerned with. "Worry", said George Lyons, "is the interest paid by those who borrow trouble."

Former U.S. President Lyndon Johnson shares a formula given to him by an old woman. She said, "When I works, I works hard. When I rests, I hangs loose. When I worries, I sleeps." We worry an awful lot about things that we can neither control nor should greatly be concerned with. "Worry", said George Lyons, "is the interest paid by those who borrow trouble."
But there is a sovereign God who directs the affairs of His children. Instead of worrying, we can put our faith into practice, praying, "God, please take control of my life." God is big enough and gracious enough to keep us from the tragic consequences of our own failures. He can redeem even our mistakes.
