Today's Inspiration: Faith and God's Faithfulness
When Napoleon Bonaparte was crossing the Alps in the dead if winter, an avalanche caught a drummer boy and swept him into a steep crevasse. Quickly the boy scrambled to his feet and kept the drums rolling even at the bottom of the crevasse. Someone said, "Let's stop and rescue the boy." But the officers responded, "You know Napoleon's order - the columns cannot stop." And the long columns of soldiers marched and left the little drummer boy to his death.
Hardened soldiers wept as the story was later told around campfires. No doubt many discussed the wisdom in leaving the drummer boy unaided. But what impressed the soldiers and makes the story worth re-telling was the drummer boy and his faithfulness. Is our faithfulness to God of the same quality?
