Today's Inspiration: Binding the Strong Man
At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus proclaimed that He had come to fulfill what the prophet Isaiah wrote: "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners" (Isaiah 61:1). Jesus came to release us from Satan's hold.
But Jesus never sugarcoated His message. He drew the line, putting God on one side, Satan on the other. Then He tells us to "bind the strong man." To rephrase, "Don't let Satan have an inch."
Don't settle for less than God's best. Bind the strong man and let God's power and presence take control of that part of you which rightfully belongs to Him.
