Today's Inspiration: Joy
Joy is distinctively a Christian virtue stemming from new life within - life that has its source in God. Unlike happiness, which often depends on circumstances, joy endures even when circumstances are dismal. Jesus said, "These things I have spoken you that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full" (John 15:11 NKJV).
Would you like to discover joy? Then let God's Holy Spirit begin to fill your heart and life, for real joy comes as the fruit of the Spirit and as the result of His indwelling presence (Romans 14:17). The Apostle Paul further writes, "Now may be the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13 NKJV).
As author Eugene Kennedy says, "The headwaters of joy are in the heart."
