The Enchanting Silence is composed of 8 places on earth where I can void my mind of all thoughts, just concentrating on feeling, seeing and hearing the immensity of nature in a single moment….. an ABSOLUTE BLISS! My heart, my mind, my spirit, and my soul are all in harmony…… feels like soaring to heaven!

The Captivating Call To Prayer - Old Cairo, Egypt

Old Cairo’s familiar sounds of belching buses, chattering voices and street vendors hawking their wares are deafening. But just as the melodic ‘call to prayer’ delivered by a sea of voices from the peaks of Cairo’s minarets, everything stops with their cries that lift to heaven. 

The call to prayer, azan or adhan is a 1,400 year-old Islamic tradition delivered simultaneously by muezzins five times a day, summoning Muslims for mandatory prayers. At the end of the call, a lone voice usually lingers on the last line, “God is greater. There is no God but God.” 

Experience of hearing these voices evokes a feeling of timelessness, a feeling that one is being lifted to heaven together with their prayers.
