My Name

My name, Merlina is the female version of the mythical wise wizard Merlin. Merlin was King Arthur's adviser and the guardian of Holy Grail. He was known by other titles as  "The Great Prophet, "The Sorcerer" and  "The Magician".  

I am a fanatic of the "Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table" and of course, Camelot.  At one point in my life when I was in high school, I became enthralled with it. I imagined myself as Queen Guinevere or Genevieve, the wife of King Arthur. The Queen was very instrumental in the rise and downfall of Camelot. Her enduring love of Lancelot, a Knight of the Round Table was  a betrayal of King Arthur, though she never loved King Arthur. I admired her for that  and as Sir Thomas Malory says, "She was a true lover and therefore she had a good end."

As a matter of fact, I like more the name "Genevieve".  But reality strikes, and I have to be proud of my name together with the honor that comes with it.

And so be it..... Merlina, a female wise wizard otherwise known as the "The Great Prophet", "The Sorcerer" and the "The Magician" in the legendary "Queen Genevieve and the Dames of the Pink Table"!
