Places I Would Like To See Before I Die - My Urban Destinations (4/8)
Adventure Exploit of World’s Famous Cities
Jerusalem, known to many as the Holy Land, is a city that converges
three faiths – Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The magnificent Dome of the Rock is sacred to Muslims,
and is recognized as the site of Abraham’s sacrifice. The Mount of Olives is sacred to Greek Orthodox Christian. The Western Wall, which is only a part of
the ancient Jewish Temple, is the holiest place for Jews. The Church
of the Holy Sepulchre, also known as the Holy Church of the Resurrection
houses the tomb of Jesus Christ.

The Wailing Wall delineates the boundaries of the different religious
sectors. In 2009, it opened a Twitter Account, wherein one can tweet a prayer
that can be placed on the wall.
As a home of the kings of Judea, the City of David is worth visiting. In this city, one can walk in a 2,700 year-old water tunnel, as a secret entrance to the city built by king Hezekiah.
As a Christian, the highlight of my visit to Jerusalem is to retrace the footsteps of Jesus and to be baptized at the Jordan River.
After an encounter with Jesus in Jerusalem, where will I go next?
